Mind Your Head is going to 3 yrs, and we'll have an anniversary show at July 18(Fri) and 19(Sat). We're glad to invite few bands from China and Canada to perform at this 3 year anniversary show.
The Dearest (Indie Rock/New Wave from Canada)
myspace: http://www.myspace.com/dearestmusic
Since forming in 2006, Dearest has
been writing a catalogue of songs that truly reflect the influences and
backgrounds that each member has. Their sound is current, catchy and
would be found somewhere between early U2 and Oasis.
Having amassed a large catalogue of
songs, Dearest wanted to deliver their music to the people.While
the members of the band are no strangers to the road having toured
Canada extensively, they embarked on the group's first tour in Asia during the summer of 2007. For a month they rocked the stage and moved crowds of 60,000+ playing the country's largest rock festival. This year Dearest will return to Asia touring 5 country's in 5 weeks including China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Singapore.
When Dearest returned they knew it
was time to record. Producer Dan Brodbeck (Avril Lavigne, Dolores
O'Riordan of The Cranberries) brought his talents and caught the
intensity and intimacy of their music. They recorded a 5 song
demo which has been catching the attention of record labels in the U.S,
Asia and Europe. All demos to date have been mastered at Sterling Sound
in New York City by sound engineer George Marino, who has also worked
with the likes of Coldplay, Bob Dylan and John Lennon.
With a new Demo now complete
Dearest promises it to be their best work yet. Look out for these guys
in the upcoming months, because if you've only just heard of them now,
you will be sure to hear much, much more about these boys from Canada!
Chui Ball Tong 吹波糖(Indie Pop/ Power Pop from China)
They are a four-piece lineup. They walk into a dancing saloon of the
nineties in the south, bubblegum in their mouths, looking for zealous
youth. they are frivolous, romantic, eager to play, in a very subtle
way, skipping around until they cannot go on, because they are young –
they represent “youth”.
Ten years on the dance floor do not make them any older, but bring more colourful lives to them:
Love Yu becomes a music teacher of the national level;
Toni a drunkard way before eighteen;
Ching a doctor;
Kuseki is still Pepper, the spice you can smell in his words, or maybe breath.
“Youth” and “Ego” are the most suitable nouns for them. In their lyrics
you can find their open attitudes about love stories, eventually you
will be inspired by them.
“Youth” now swings in from the dancing pool to the stage, where nobody
can hide under their masquerades. As long as you are willing to
comprehend their name as if you were chewing it, seeing it as a sweet
tongue-sticking exercise, whether a day just goes by dully, or sucks as
if watching TV ads for 24 hours, it does not matter anymore. Their name
is something vivid and 3-dimensional which you can touch and
experience, Chui Ball Tong - “bubblegum”, a four-piece band.
